Robert Davi Criticizes California’s Leadership and Hollywood, Relocates to Florida

Robert Davi, a veteran actor known for roles in The Goonies and Die Hard, has voiced criticism of California’s political and cultural landscape. Despite his long-time residence in Los Angeles, Davi decided to leave the state, citing crime and homelessness as key factors.

Though raised in New York, Davi moved to California in 1977 as part of his burgeoning film career. His concerns have centered on what he perceives as mismanagement in areas such as homelessness, political corruption, and local education agencies. He questions the allocation of educational funds, suggesting they favor political agendas over student needs.

Davi’s decision comes amidst what he describes as increasing crime rates necessitating security measures like gates and guards even in everyday locations like CVS stores. A turning point for Davi was the fatal home invasion of Jacqueline Avant in Beverly Hills, which he saw as emblematic of the state’s declining conditions.

His criticism extends to Hollywood’s political leanings, recalling a time when conservative views were openly expressed without backlash. He references his participation in the Reagan biopic as an illustration of the changing political acceptance in Hollywood.

Davi’s departure marks four years since his move to Florida, a decision driven by a combination of personal safety concerns and frustrations with Hollywood’s political climate.
