Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was involved in a bar altercation shortly after the actress’s sudden death. On September 12, Greenville Police received a call reporting an assault at Wild Wing Café in South Carolina.

“Upon arrival, officers located several individuals involved in an altercation and detained multiple patrons while the incident was investigated.”

The police identified Hickerson and his brother, Zachary, as two of those involved. Zachary, reportedly intoxicated, faced a disorderly conduct charge. A circulating video shows Hickerson handcuffed, referencing Panettiere’s death. Another video captured Hickerson throwing a bar stool before leaving the establishment.

Despite the altercation, Hickerson faced no charges. Panettiere was found dead on August 16. Hickerson, who had a rocky relationship with Panettiere, discovered her unresponsive at a Greenville residence. He gave the authorities medication Panettiere had used.

Preliminary autopsy results showed no trauma contributing to Panettiere’s death, but investigations continue. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assists in the inquiry, underscoring the complexity of the situation.

Following Panettiere’s death, her mother, Lesley Vogel, shared insights into her daughter’s final months, questioning the speculation surrounding her daughter’s death. Panettiere’s representatives condemned the gossip, urging those with information to contact law enforcement directly.
