Kelani Jordan achieved a milestone by winning the WWE NXT Women’s Championship on Sunday night at Heatwave. She triumphed over Kendal Grey in an outstanding match, marking one of the top women’s contests of the year.

Jordan had been striving for greater opportunities for quite some time. This match presented her with the chance she had long desired. She capitalized by driving Grey into the turnbuckle, setting up a perfect scenario for a split-legged moonsault. After executing this move, Jordan pinned Grey to secure her victory and new title.

Grey made several attempts to retain her title against Jordan. She executed an impressive avalanche reverse Spanish Fly. Despite her efforts, Grey couldn’t overcome Jordan’s resolve. Grey had Jordan in difficult situations, striking her with a knee but still couldn’t clinch the win.

Jordan’s perseverance fueled her success, earning her the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time. Previously, Jordan held other singles titles. She was the inaugural NXT Women’s North American champion and held the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts Championship briefly.

Her reign as the NXT Women’s North American champion ended at Halloween Havoc 2024 when she lost to Fallon Henley. She lost the TNA Knockouts title during a triple-threat match at NXT Gold Rush last November to Lei Ying Lee.

Jordan’s gymnastics expertise helped her counter Grey’s wrestling skills and take the title in a one-on-one match, proving pivotal for her success.
