The Final U.S. Swim Meet of the Summer

The 2026 Toyota U.S. Swimming National Championships will broadcast live from Tuesday through Saturday on Peacock and NBCSN. This event is the last chance for Team USA to compete before the Pan Pacific Championships in Irvine, California in August. It’s the first major international long-course meet on American soil since the 2010 Pan Pacs.

Absent Stars

Some notable swimmers such as Katie Ledecky, Regan Smith, and Bobby Finke will skip the nationals to prepare for the Pan Pacs, which start 11 days after nationals end.

Caeleb Dressel

Caeleb Dressel enters as the No. 3 seed in the 50m and 100m fly. The nine-time Olympic gold medalist is making a comeback after taking a break post the 2024 Paris Olympics. This year, he achieved a season-best of 21.84 in the 50m free.

Gretchen Walsh

Walsh is focused on the 50m free, holding the world record. She also set a new world record of 23.55 in the 50m free this year and clocked the world’s fastest 50m fly time.

Kate Douglass

Douglass is the No. 1 seed in the 100m breast and No. 2 in the 50m free. The five-time Olympic medalist recently set a world record in the 50m free.

Michael Andrew

• Top seed in the 50m breast (26.75)
• No. 2 seed in the 50m fly (23.08)
• No. 5 seed in both the 50m free (21.78) and 100m breast (59.99)

Andrew is working towards competing again in the Olympics, after training with his father in Hawaii.

Katie Grimes

Katie Grimes is the top seed in the 1500m free and the No. 2 seed in the 400m IM. She was a silver medalist in 2024 and made history as the first U.S. woman to compete in both the pool and open water at the same Olympics.

Jack Alexy

Jack Alexy enters as the top seed in the 100m free and the 200m free. He broke Dressel’s American record at the 2025 World Championships.

Breakout Stars

Van Mathias

Mathias is the fastest American breaststroker in history, setting records in both the 50m and 100m breast.

Ilya Kharun

Kharun is competing in the 50m, 100m, and 200m fly, along with the 50m free. He changed his sporting citizenship to the U.S. from Canada earlier this year.

Quintin McCarty

• Top seed in the 50m free with a time of 21.43, making him the third-fastest globally this year.
• Seventh-fastest American performer in history.

Luka Mijatovic

• Top seed in the 1500m free, competing in eight events.
• Youngest American to break 15 minutes in the event.
• National Age Group record holder in the 400m free.

Other Notable Competitors

Anna Moesch holds the top seed in both women’s 100m and 200m free. Isabelle Stadden leads in all three women’s backstroke events. Kieran Smith, Leah Hayes, and Bella Sims also hold top seeds in their respective events.
