Dominique Malonga, the center for the Seattle Storm, showcased her dunking skills during the All-Star Game on Saturday night. Known for her ability, it was less about if she would dunk and more about when. The 6-foot-6 player seized her chance in the second quarter, catching a pass from Angel Reese of the Atlanta Dream and making WNBA history.

According to the Seattle Storm, Malonga is the seventh player in league history to achieve a dunk in an All-Star Game. The WNBA highlighted that at 20 years old, she is the youngest player to reach this milestone in the event.

Malonga follows in the footsteps of WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles, becoming the first to dunk in an All-Star Game since Fowles accomplished it in 2022.

Although Malonga has yet to complete a regular-season dunk for the Storm after 63 games, her dunking prowess is well-known. She has successfully dunked in European matches and other competitions.

Shortly after being the second overall pick in last year’s draft, Malonga demonstrated her dunking capability during her debut practice with the Storm. She is known for her compelling performance on the court, averaging 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season.

Before the All-Star Game, fellow Storm player Flau’jae Johnson humorously remarked she might stop talking to Malonga if she didn’t achieve a dunk during the game.
