Vice President JD Vance visited Wisconsin on Wednesday to emphasize his anti-fraud efforts, highlighting cases of alleged fraud that began under the Biden administration. Vance’s approach aligns with a broader Republican strategy as the midterm elections approach, portraying Democrats as enabling fraudulent activities.

During a speech in Milwaukee, Vance criticized Democrats, saying, “This is not about better or worse policy. This is about who is supporting fraudsters and who is supporting you.” His remarks were made to a small audience gathered in an airport hangar at a National Guard base.

Vance framed his initiatives as a part of successful policy-making, while also utilizing them as a tool to criticize the opposing party. He pointed to past examples of fraud to underline his argument that Democrats have turned a blind eye.

As Vance made his appearance in Wisconsin, rising oil prices marked renewed conflict between the U.S. and Iran, impacting American consumers expecting economic relief under President Trump’s tenure. Despite economic issues, Vance, alongside Republicans such as Representative Tom Tiffany and Representative Derrick Van Orden, focused on fraud allegations against Democrats.

Tom Tiffany, a gubernatorial candidate, accused Democrats of ignoring fraud in Wisconsin. He specifically criticized Democratic Governor Tony Evers for preventing the federal government from accessing personal data of food-stamp recipients.
