Army Secretary Resignation and New Appointment

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has submitted his resignation following extended conflicts with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. This development was highlighted on ‘America Reports’ by Fox News chief national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin.

President Donald Trump announced Adam Telle as the acting secretary of the Army. Telle, formerly the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, assumed the position after Driscoll’s resignation. Trump praised Telle as a respected patriot and affirmed the appointment via Truth Social.

Telle’s new role came quickly following Driscoll’s departure. He previously oversaw the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works program, handling flood protection, waterways, and Clean Water Act permits. His past includes serving as chief of staff for Sen. Bill Hagerty and a chief liaison role during Trump’s first administration. This appointment places him at the helm of the nation’s largest military branch.

Reports indicate that Driscoll and Hegseth clashed over Army transformation and readiness, with Driscoll feeling Hegseth obstructed these efforts. Despite this, Driscoll expressed gratitude for the opportunity given by Trump and recognized the progress made in modernizing the Army.

With strong connections on Capitol Hill, Telle’s role as acting secretary of the Army is expected to aid in confirming other Army nominees delayed in the Senate. This fills a vital leadership gap and continues efforts for organizational stability within the military.
