The Hardys, renowned for their use of ladders, once again showcased their prowess at Slammiversary, securing the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Throughout their historic careers, ladders have been instrumental in capturing multiple tag team titles.
Climbing the ladder in professional wrestling often leads to intense moments. When either of the Hardy brothers is involved, excitement and danger are guaranteed. Jeff Hardy turned back time on Sunday night during a four-way ladder match that included challengers Bear Bronson and Brian Myers, Jason Hotch and John Skyler, as well as Vincent and Dutch.
Spartan Strategy
Matt Hardy strategically placed Hotch and Skyler between a ladder sandwiched by the barricade and the ring apron. Jeff Hardy then took another ladder brought by Vincent and Dutch, climbing to execute a breathtaking Swanton Bomb from the top. This set the stage for the Hardys to seize victory.
“Whenever Jeff climbs, fans know they’re witnessing something spectacular,” noted an observer.
Using the ladder positioned centrally in the ring, Matt and Jeff Hardy captured the TNA World Tag Team Championship belts, marking their triumphant win.
Historic Achievement
With this victory, the Hardys matched Beer Money Inc. and The Wolves for the most reigns in TNA history, marking their fifth title win. This accomplishment also marked their second reign within the last year.
The Hardys previously secured the championship at last year’s Slammiversary, holding onto the titles for 265 days before losing them to Myers and Bronson at Rebellion earlier this year. Their latest reign signifies their return to leadership in TNA tag team wrestling.
Bronson and Myers’ Brief Reign
The duo of Bronson and Myers held the championship for 78 days before the Hardys reclaimed the title, reinforcing their legendary status in the industry.
