Shedeur Sanders, playing for the Cleveland Browns, missed a first-round draft pick in 2025. Despite this, he secured substantial earnings through NFL Players’ Association endorsement deals. According to Front Office Sports, Sanders earned $17.7 million in group licensing income for the 2025 season.

This income comes from fans purchasing jerseys, trading cards, and other collectibles. It sets a new record, surpassing the $9.5 million Tom Brady earned in the 2021-22 season.

Despite a disappointing draft experience, where he awaited a call until Day 3, he was finally picked by Cleveland. Sanders was chosen after Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel. Cleveland’s third-round pick, Dillon Gabriel, was also a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Sanders’ popularity is evident through his merchandise sales, demonstrating strong support from fans. Reports highlight additional endorsements, potentially bringing his rookie season earnings to nearly $20 million or more.

He entered the NFL with high expectations from both fans and commentators. Initially, Sanders had to wait for playing time, with Joe Flacco starting under former coach Kevin Stefanski.

Sanders debuted in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders, leading the Browns to a 24-10 win. He recorded 11 completions on 20 attempts, totaling 209 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Coach Stefanski confirmed Sanders as the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, as the Browns focused on his development. Throughout his seven starts, Sanders achieved 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, finishing with a 3-4 record.

As the Browns have a new head coach, Todd Monken, Sanders’ position remains competitive for the 2026 season. Deshaun Watson’s return to health means he shares practice reps with Sanders.
