The Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) has announced that a new potential ransom note related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation has come to the attention of law enforcement. This development was shared late on Monday by the PCSD/FBI Guthrie Task Force.
The potential note surfaced nearly eight months after Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing. She was last seen at her Tucson, Arizona home on January 31.
The sheriff’s department communicated on social media that investigators are aware of comments regarding the note and are examining the information to assess its credibility.
“Investigators are also aware of social media comments regarding the note and are looking further into the information to determine its credibility,” PCSD said.
Newsweek has contacted the sheriff’s department for additional comments. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
