Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Shares Health Update After Cancer Diagnosis

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi provided fans with an update on her health, six months following her cervical cancer diagnosis. The 38-year-old reality star shared in an emotional Instagram video the details of her hysterectomy procedure.

Polizzi Undergoes Surgery

In the video, Polizzi documented her hospital arrival and preparation for surgery. She shared her experience via a voice-over, then spoke directly to the camera post-surgery. “I’m not good with pain, but I’ve been trying to be tough,” she admitted. She explained that her surgery was extensive, involving the removal of her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, and parts of her vagina to ensure all cancerous areas were addressed. She retained her ovaries to avoid premature menopause.

Polizzi shared her emotional struggle throughout the process. She expressed, “It’s just been a lot,” but remained determined to stay positive.

Before and After Surgery

She recounted the pre-surgery procedures, including iodine applications and body scrubbing, which heightened her anxiety. “Stay positive, it’s gonna be fine,” she reminded herself. Despite her rising anxiety and shakes, she found reassurance from her medical team, which helped her calm down when anesthesia was administered. She humorously recalled trying to delay the effects of anesthesia longer than average.

Sharing Her Journey

Polizzi also underwent treatment for diastasis recti, a condition resulting from her pregnancies. She explained her decision to share this journey: “A lot of us women deal with it, and no one really talks about it. So I’m here to give that platform for all of us ladies.” She relayed support from followers facing similar surgeries and encouraged them by sharing, “It’s okay to be scared.”

Aftermath and Recovery

Following surgery, Polizzi spoke about managing her pain and the benefits of her procedure like no longer needing birth control. She expressed hope for a cancer-free future and emphasized the importance of Pap smears. In February, she disclosed her Stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis and anticipated the need for a hysterectomy.

Polizzi concluded her message by expressing gratitude to her followers, urging them to prioritize their health screenings.
