Nevada Jury Convicts Duane Davis in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

A Nevada jury has convicted Duane “Keffe D” Davis of first-degree murder involving the use of a deadly weapon in the 1996 drive-by shooting of renowned rapper Tupac Shakur. The verdict was delivered on Monday, following deliberations by the jury after closing arguments were presented in the trial.

The Associated Press reported that the jury reached its decision after evaluating extensive testimony during the trial. The proceedings lasted nine days, comprising 24 witnesses for the prosecution and three for the defense. The trial was monitored by many due to its high-profile nature.

During the incident on September 7, 1996, a gunman in a white Cadillac fired shots at a BMW carrying Tupac Shakur and Marion “Suge” Knight while they were on the Las Vegas Strip. Knight sustained minor injuries, while Shakur’s wounds proved fatal six days later. He was 25 years old at the time of his death.
