Matvei Michkov has captured attention with a remarkable goal in a charity hockey game during the off-season. The Philadelphia Flyers forward executed a slick lacrosse-style goal, often known as a Michigan move, which is gaining viral traction.

In the 2025-26 season, Michkov faced challenges due to arriving at training camp in poor condition, impacting his performance. However, he has been training in Russia and participated in the Match of the Year, a charity event organized by NHL players Artemi Panarin and Mikhail Sergachev. Notable players such as Capitals’ Alex Ovechkin also took part.
