Manhattan Woman Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl-Murder Scheme

A Manhattan woman admitted responsibility for the deaths of three men whom she provided with fentanyl-laced drugs. Tabitha Bundrick, 39, confessed in a court on Tuesday to giving the potent synthetic opioid to her clients from April 2023 to February 2024. Following this, she stole their personal possessions, including cell phones, money, sneakers, and watches, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated, “The defendant knowingly killed three people by providing them fentanyl-laced drugs. As they lay unconscious, she robbed her victims and left them to die.” Often, the victims’ bodies were later found by friends or family members.

Fentanyl-related deaths are part of a new legislative proposal to increase liabilities for drug distributors.

Bundrick exhibited “shocking indifference” to her victims’ lives, according to Bragg. She faces a potential sentence of 27 years to life for three counts of second-degree murder and one count of second-degree assault.

Her criminal activities started on April 30, 2023. She encountered Mario Paullan, 42, and another man on the street, offering to sell soap. Then she provided sexual services for money at an apartment she had broken into, prosecutors revealed.

After ingesting the fentanyl-laced drugs she supplied, Paullan’s friend awoke to find him deceased the following morning, their belongings missing.

In subsequent months, Bundrick met Miguel Navez, 39, offering him drugs at his apartment. Authorities found Navez deceased three days later, with his possessions similarly stolen.

The last known incident occurred on February 25, 2024, involving the death of Abrihan Fernandez, 34. Surveillance captured Bundrick entering and leaving an Upper Manhattan apartment repeatedly with large bags.

Bundrick’s sentencing is scheduled for October 6.
