Jonathan Andic Denies Murder Allegation in Father’s Death Investigation

Jonathan Andic, the son of the founder of the renowned Mango clothing empire, has publicly denied allegations of murdering his father, Isak Andic. The accusations emerged as part of an investigation into the elder Andic’s death in 2024 in Spain.

In an open letter to Mango staff on Tuesday, Jonathan Andic described the accusation as “serious, unjust, and unfounded.” He announced his resignation as vice president of the fashion giant’s board to focus on defending himself legally. “A public narrative has been created based on a view that is biased, distorted and taken out of context, which has created a perception of guilt that has nothing to do with reality,” Andic, 45, asserted in his first public comment on the case.

“I make this decision sadly, but convinced that it is what’s best for the company and for me. … I need to concentrate all my energy on demonstrating my innocence,”

he added.

Jonathan Andic had been with his 71-year-old father, Isak Andic, during a hiking excursion in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona. It was there, on December 14, 2024, that the Mango founder met his untimely death. Initially regarded as an accident, the circumstances surrounding Isak Andic’s death led to a reopened investigation by prosecutors in October 2025, focusing on Jonathan Andic.

Jonathan Andic faced arrest a week ago but subsequently secured release on a one million euro ($1.2 million) bail. Prior to the investigation’s intensified focus, he had been appointed as executive vice president of Mango’s holding company in January 2025, shortly following his father’s passing.
