Jason Dohring, known for his role in ‘Veronica Mars’, has shifted his focus from acting to farming. On the ‘Don’t Do Nothing’ podcast, the 44-year-old discussed his newfound enthusiasm for gardening, which began four years ago. He informed his agents that he planned to ‘go farm for a minute’ as he became more involved in agriculture.

His interest took root in Los Angeles. He then moved to develop a 14-acre farm in West Virginia, planting 4,000 trees, including apples, cherries, pears, peaches, and nectarines. Dohring estimates he planted 3,500 of those trees himself.

The transition to farming was influenced by his experiences with water scarcity in California. Now residing on an 11-acre farm in Florida with his wife, Lauren Kutner, and their four children, Dohring appreciates the state’s abundant rain. He applies regenerative farming techniques that avoid chemical use, contributing to improved growth on his farm.

‘There was this old guy and he’s like, ‘Are you the owner?’… ‘I’ve never seen anything like this before,’’ Dohring shared about a visitor’s reaction to his farm.

Dohring initially gained fame as Logan Echolls on ‘Veronica Mars’, acting alongside Kristen Bell. His acting career also includes roles in ‘Moonlight’, ‘The Originals’, and later, the ‘Veronica Mars’ movie in 2014 and its revival in 2019. His last acting job was in ‘SEAL Team’ in 2021.

While he has taken a break from acting, Dohring admits he may return to the field. He has participated in a short film for a friend and expresses a love for art and creation.

Dohring and Kutner met and became friends in high school, marrying in 2004. The couple has four children: Owen, Lily, Ainsley Mae, and Isla Avery.
