Veteran tight end George Kittle, who previously suffered a torn Achilles during the San Francisco 49ers’ wild card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on January 11, is now prepared to take part in the team’s Week 1 matchup. This game is against the Los Angeles Rams and will take place in Melbourne, Australia.
Kittle had been limited in practice sessions throughout the week; however, he now has no injury designation moving into the season opener. Both Kittle and teammate Nick Bosa, who recently dealt with a knee issue, are set to play in Thursday night’s contest.
“Body feels really good,” Kittle shared earlier this week on 49ersWebZone. “It’s bounced back really good. I’d say I’ve really taken a step back … towards playing. But besides that, don’t know what the workload is.”
Entering his 10th season with the 49ers, Kittle remains a key player on the team. Last season, in 11 regular-season games, he recorded 57 receptions for 628 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
The game between the 49ers and Rams is scheduled to begin at 8:35 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
