Explosion at Moscow Restaurant Leaves Three Dead

On Saturday evening, a devastating explosion occurred at a restaurant in central Moscow, killing three people and injuring 21 others. The blast was triggered by a homemade explosive device, according to Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee.

The victims included a woman who allegedly attempted to bring the explosive device into the establishment, a security guard, and a restaurant patron. The incident took place at around 8 p.m. on the ground floor terrace of a Kudrinskaya Square restaurant, surrounded by seven skyscrapers from the Stalin era.

According to Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, the explosion happened at the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant. The restaurant’s website indicated it was closed for a private event on that day.

Witnesses reported seeing heavily armed law enforcement officers and emergency services personnel at the scene. The explosion has prompted a significant response from local authorities, with police vehicles and security forces stationed nearby.
