A distressing incident occurred on the Jersey Shore when a toddler fell from Casino Pier’s Sky Ride in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The 2-year-old girl fell before the ride commenced, around 7:40 p.m., resulting in a rapid response from Casino Pier staff and emergency personnel.
The Sky Ride, which is a chairlift-style attraction built by Borvig in 1983, sits approximately 10 to 12 feet above the boardwalk. According to reports, the girl fell onto the entrance platform and then onto the sand below. Fire Chief Tim Farrell confirmed these details to the press. The ride was immediately shut down, and Seaside Heights firefighters used a ladder to safely assist a 3-year-old boy who remained on the ride.
Emergency Medical Services staff assessed the girl’s health promptly after her fall. She and her aunt were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for further evaluation. Authorities, including the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, are currently investigating the situation. Police have stated there is no immediate evidence of malfunction or defect in the ride.
This event is one of several recent amusement park incidents across the United States. In Colorado, a woman suffered serious injuries after reportedly being ejected from a roller coaster, while in Texas, riders were left hanging 200 feet in the air due to a passenger using a cellphone during the ride.
The investigation into the Sky Ride incident is ongoing, with Fox News Digital attempting contact with the local police and fire departments for additional information.
