Humans possess advanced language skills that might be unique. However, dogs appear to have adopted some of these language strategies.
New research from Hungary, recently published in the journal Science, reveals that dogs employ a method to discern words in continuous speech similar to human infants. They focus on consonants to identify where one word ends and the next begins.
In a study involving brain activity, a six-year-old Labrador named Pocak demonstrated behaviors supporting this theory. The findings highlight that dogs may process speech by paying attention to subtle cues within the language, offering insights into the communication between humans and their canine companions.
