Democratic Strategist Criticizes Ossoff’s Remarks on Trump

A leading Democratic strategist from the Obama era criticized Senator Jon Ossoff for his comments about President Donald Trump, calling them “gratuitous and unnecessary.” Ossoff, a Georgia Democrat with growing prominence during his re-election campaign, has gained attention for his remarks targeting Trump.

Ossoff’s criticism was directed at Trump’s actions concerning Iran and the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East. During a speech, Ossoff expanded his critique by mentioning Trump’s executive assistant, Natalie Harp.

Ossoff stated, “While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks. So he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”

This statement provoked strong reactions from Trump, his supporters, and Ossoff’s opponent, Rep. Mike Collins. It also drew criticism from David Axelrod, a key figure in former President Barack Obama’s campaigns and administration.

The paragraph from his weekend speech that has gotten so much attention was a brutal takedown, Axelrod said on X. But two words in it, ‘with Natalie,’ seemed gratuitous and unnecessary.

Axelrod noted that the viral speech clip, which has received over 6 million views, may have resonated with some of Ossoff’s base but detracted from the overall message.

Rep. Mike Collins agreed with Axelrod to some extent, criticizing Ossoff for attacking a young female staffer for political points. Collins stated, “It’s unbecoming of a U.S. Senator, and the fact prominent Democrats are starting to call him out just proves it.”

However, others in the Democratic sphere disagreed with Axelrod. Joanne Carducci, also known as Jojofromjerz, praised Ossoff’s tactics. The political world has changed since you were a player in it, and if we continue to operate under the antiquated rules of the past, we’ll keep losing, she stated on X.

In response to the backlash, Ossoff is also responding to the White House, where Trump has likened him to a “Pee-wee Herman look-alike.” Ossoff countered on MSNOW, stating, “no one cares about their feelings,” and noted that White House staffers, including Harp, are public officials with significant responsibilities.

Alex Miller, a writer for Fox News Digital, covers these developments regarding Ossoff and the U.S. Senate.
