Deion Sanders Addresses Team Conduct After Colorado’s Setback

Deion Sanders expressed frustration following Colorado’s 41-7 defeat against Northwestern. His disappointment emerged through interactions with players who seemed indifferent to the team’s performance.

Before facing Northwestern, some Colorado players were recorded making derogatory comments about the opponent’s crowd size. This set an unfortunate tone for the Buffaloes throughout the game.

During post-game moments, players laughed about the loss, which Sanders found unacceptable. He addressed the issue firmly, emphasizing his displeasure.

“I don’t understand how you can find joy when I’m right behind you walking [the locker room],” Sanders said. “I addressed it, and I’m going to put my foot in it, not on it.”

Colorado’s season record stands at 2-1, yet the recent loss to Northwestern might signal deeper problems within the team. Sanders aims to prevent negative behavior from repeating, indicating potential dismissals.

He recalled problems last season caused by complacency among players, stating his refusal to let history repeat itself.

“It’s never one,” Sanders noted. “I’m one of the most loving and forgiving persons, but when conduct harms the team, I address it. I didn’t do enough last year and it led to implosion. I’m not doing that anymore.”

Safety Ben Finneseth publicly apologized for his pregame remarks, promising improved behavior.

“It was childish,” Finneseth confessed. “It won’t happen again. I promise to handle matters better.”

On the upcoming schedule, Colorado faces Baylor in Waco, a critical matchup for the Buffaloes’ Big 12 title aspirations. Updates on dismissed players are expected once the official depth chart is released.
