The New York Jets owner Woody Johnson will receive recognition at the Tunnel to Towers gala later this year. This honor celebrates his long-standing partnership with the organization.
Tunnel to Towers, established in 2001, supports 9/11 first responders, veterans, and their families. The organization has notably provided mortgage-free smart homes for disabled servicemen and housing for homeless veterans.
Johnson’s involvement with Tunnel to Towers began in 2014. He made a $1 million donation to the Building for America’s Bravest program.
Recently, Johnson and Tunnel to Towers gifted a new mortgage-free smart home to Command Sergeant Major William ‘Bud’ McElroy.
Johnson told Fox News Digital, ‘Tunnel to Towers’ work reminds us of honoring heroes who sacrificed for our country. Their dedication over two decades turns grief into action.’
Tunnel to Towers Chairman Frank Siller stated, ‘Woody Johnson supports our families selflessly. His family and foundation enabled six injured veterans to live in adapted smart homes.’
‘Woody has embodied the spirit of helping others, making him worthy of the Follow the Footsteps Award, which we’ll present at our December gala,’ Siller added.
Woody Johnson, who served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom under the Trump administration, is a founding trustee of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
