Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, announced the introduction of new US dollar bills featuring the signature of President Donald Trump. These bills aim to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary. Bessent confirmed this initiative by sharing a social media post from the president. The post included an image of a $100 bill signed by Trump.

Bessent stated, “There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S dollar bills bearing his signature. It is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the semiquincentennial.” Traditionally, US currency features signatures from the treasury secretary and the US treasurer, not the president.

Trump, who previously built his career in New York business, is known for associating his name with national institutions. Last year, his name was added to the US Institute of Peace and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. However, a judge later ordered the removal of his name from the arts complex. Additionally, Palm Beach International Airport in Florida is slated for renaming in his honor.
