A North Carolina woman, Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, has disappeared during a trip to Grenada. Her family, friends, and loved ones are appealing for her safe return. The Royal Grenada Police Force reports Waddell was last seen at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, near her accommodations in the Grand Anse area.
Waddell, 44, is a physical therapist from Raleigh known for her role as founder of Art of Movement Physical Therapy and holds a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Authorities describe her as 5 feet 5 inches tall with short blonde hair, releasing a photo of her with pink hair to aid the search.

According to WRAL News, Waddell traveled to Grenada for a vacation with a friend. The friend stated she lost sight of Waddell after staying in their Airbnb for an online course while Waddell went outside, possibly for a swim.
“She had her swimsuit on and went outside their Airbnb,” Amanda Romano-Harmon said. “They had a pool overlooking the bay. Liz was there sightseeing, and her friend was taking the course. After finishing, the friend noticed Waddell was missing, finding only a towel on the pier.”
Concern grew because Waddell was without her phone, leading to a missing-persons report being filed after several hours.

Waddell’s husband, Cailen, was notified at work and stated on social media he was traveling to assist in the search. He urged anyone connected to the island to share information that might locate her.
“My wife is a loving, free-spirited person,” he told Grenada Broadcasting Network. “She could make friends with anyone.”
Police are appealing to fishermen, boat operators, and residents along Grenada’s southern coastline for information on Waddell’s whereabouts. The search operation includes police officers, divers, and students from St. George’s University.

Aradia Fitness, where Waddell works as a fitness instructor, expressed sorrow over her disappearance in a social media post, hoping for her safe return.
