Trump Calls for Investigations into Alleged ‘Paid Protesters’

On Sunday, former President Donald Trump expressed his desire for investigations into what he describes as ‘paid protesters’ after online footage showed an individual participating in several demonstrations.

Trump posted on his Truth Social account, referencing claims made by conservative journalist Emily Miller, who suggested the same woman was seen at different protests separated by months. These protests were linked to Trump-endorsed projects, including one at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and another at the planned site of a triumphal arch.

The government underwent renovations of the Reflecting Pool earlier this year. The proposed 250-foot arch is intended to be located near Arlington Memorial Bridge, positioned between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

Neither Trump nor Miller have provided conclusive evidence to support the claims that the woman was compensated for attending these protests, nor identified potential sources of payment.

In one of his posts on Truth Social, Trump expressed gratitude towards Miller and alleged that many individuals across the nation attempt to obstruct significant developments, projects, and policies. He claimed that Miller captured the woman ‘REDHANDED.’

During previous protest events, Trump has accused opponents of his administration and its policies of being paid demonstrators. In the June 2025 protests in Los Angeles, he described some participants as ‘paid insurrectionists’ and ‘paid troublemakers.’ Similar accusations have been made regarding protests against his immigration enforcement strategies, with Trump suggesting that some demonstrators were professional or paid agitators.
