September marks a significant milestone for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide as Triplemania 34 takes place in the United States for the first time. The event consists of two nights of high-energy wrestling. Night 1 is set for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will feature some of the industry’s top performers. Night 2 will happen at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

The event will showcase both regular AAA personalities and a few familiar WWE stars. Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown made their presence felt during SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J., on August 3, 2025.

For those unfamiliar with AAA or Triplemania, commentator Corey Graves provided insights in an interview, comparing Lucha Libre’s vibrant style to the Savannah Bananas. He stated that while many recognize WrestleMania, Triplemania is the 34th version of AAA’s premier event. Lucha Libre offers a unique, culturally rich experience distinct from what fans might see on shows like Raw or SmackDown. Graves likened WWE to Major League Baseball and AAA to the Savannah Bananas, highlighting that both offer entertainment, but through different lenses, featuring elaborate costumes, intense characters, and captivating pageantry.

Graves emphasized that Lucha Libre is more about moments and experiences than statistics. Fans want to be part of the action even if they don’t fully grasp Lucha Libre’s deep history. He explained his role in guiding the audience and preserving the essence of Lucha Libre, while integrating some WWE flair.

Las Vegas has been busy hosting recent WWE events, including WrestleMania 41 and 42 at Allegiant Stadium in 2025 and 2026. The decision to move Triplemania 34 from the Luxor to the MGM Grand Garden Arena underscores growing interest, especially from the local Latino community. AAA programming is available for free on YouTube Saturday nights, making it accessible worldwide.

Night 1’s card includes a match featuring Rey Mysterio, AAA’s general manager, against Omos. If Omos loses, he will be permanently excluded from AAA. Rey Mysterio has El Grande Americano in his corner, while Dominik Mysterio supports Omos. The two Mysterios will also feature prominently in Night 2, with Dominik defending the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano.
