During that game, Patrick Mahomes, the superstar quarterback, sustained a severe injury. He underwent surgery for a torn ACL and LCL, which sidelined him for the season.
Mahomes expressed optimism in January about being ready for the Chiefs’ season opener, actively participating in drills shortly after his surgery.
