The Burke Law Group, a small firm based in Texas, has decided not to pursue a $150 million federal contract. This contract was intended for legal representation of unaccompanied migrant children.
The decision to withdraw came after the firm was reportedly contacted by the Trump administration. The firm’s role was meant to address a shortfall in legal services for these children.
In a social media announcement on Tuesday, the firm stated that it initially aimed for a smaller share of the grant before opting out altogether.
