This year’s Taste of Orland Park runs from July 31 through August 2, offering more food choices, including a range of local restaurant offerings, compared to last year. An estimated 30,000 people are expected to attend the annual food and music festival. Mayor Jim Dodge stated that the village is increasing seating options in a shaded area behind the main stage. They are also redesigning road access to ensure the safety of festival-goers.
In 2025, 15 restaurants participated, but this year sees that number rise to 22 vendors. Notable returning vendors include Barraco’s, Buona Beef, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, and several others. New participants for this year include Barone’s, Fogo de Chao, Jet’s Pizza, and various others. Dodge acknowledged the challenge vendors face in staffing both restaurants and the festival, expressing gratitude for their participation.
The event coincides with the celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday. Jim Cornelison, known for singing the national anthem for the Chicago Blackhawks, will perform during the Veterans Tribute on August 1 at 6 p.m. This tribute honors local veterans and active-duty service members.
Jim Cornelison has performed at major events like the Indianapolis 500 and NHL Winter Classics, as noted in an Orland Park news release.
Entertainment includes performances by Barometer Soup, covering Jimmy Buffet, and Rok Brigade, focusing on 1980s rock. Saturday will feature Petty Kings with Tom Petty songs and Hillbilly Rockstarz with country music. Sunday’s lineup includes Sounds of Summer playing Beach Boys songs and Billy Nation, a tribute band for Billy Joel. The festival concludes with a drone show and fireworks at 9 p.m.
The Taste of Orland returned to the Village Green last year under Mayor Dodge’s leadership. The Village Green location offers advantages like nearby cooling centers and restrooms. Some past festivalgoers had difficulty navigating the previous location at Centennial Park West.
The event has a budget of $500,000, spending about $322,000 last year. Sponsorships have already brought in $116,000, with last year’s revenues at $130,000.
