Power Outage Forces Roller Coaster Evacuation at Six Flags Over Texas

Visitors to Six Flags Over Texas experienced an abrupt evacuation from one of the park’s tallest roller coasters following a power outage over the weekend. The incident involved guests on the Titan coaster at Arlington, Texas, which stopped unexpectedly on Saturday.

Video clips online show riders descending carefully via a steep staircase attached to the roller coaster’s massive framework. The Titan coaster stands approximately 245 feet tall and can reach speeds up to 85 mph.

According to WFAA, Six Flags representatives identified the outage as an internal technical issue that disrupted power across the park. Operations resumed on Sunday.

One commented, “I could never get down from there, not at that height.” Another remarked, “Would never ride a roller coaster again.”

The footage triggered varied responses on social media, with some users expressing fear about the evacuation, while others questioned roller coaster safety standards. Many pointed out that amusement park rides are subject to stringent regulations.

Some guests shared frustrations over prolonged waits and ride closures during the outage. A user remarked, “Six Flags always has something happening.”

The Titan coaster, a key attraction at Six Flags Over Texas since 2001, was not the first to require evacuation due to technical issues. Earlier this year, Six Flags New England in Massachusetts had a similar event with Superman the Ride.

Park authorities emphasized that trained staff safely managed the evacuation and maintained communication with guests during the process.
