Federal regulators have confirmed the survival of the crew on board the Amazon cargo jet that crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) shared details at a press conference, explaining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The cargo plane overran the runway during landing and ignited upon impact. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the crew managed to survive. The tragic crash resulted in the deaths of five people and left five others injured.
According to NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy, the jet collided with two vehicles during the crash. One of these vehicles was a van used for cleaning services within the airport perimeter, carrying seven individuals. Additionally, a civilian vehicle was hit after the plane breached the airport’s perimeter.
