Sen. Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, announced on Thursday that he has returned home after being discharged from a rehabilitation facility. This follows a fall at his Kentucky residence in mid-June that resulted in his hospitalization.

McConnell expressed his gratitude, stating, “Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home. Elaine, my wife, and I are thankful for the numerous well-wishes and support extended by friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians. We appreciate the attentive care provided by outstanding doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff.”

The senator indicated that he plans to stay at home while the Senate conducts its upcoming state work period as he continues his recovery. “Upon my doctors’ advice, I’ll adhere to a rigorous physical therapy regimen at home during the state work period. I’ll also remain engaged with my staff and colleagues concerning significant Senate business,” he mentioned.

McConnell’s recent arrival for a vote at the U.S. Capitol on June 28, 2025, underscores his continued involvement in Senate activities.
