During the third quarter of Thursday night’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever, security escorted two men from their seats after the Aces’ Jackie Young alerted a referee to their behavior. The game paused with 4:38 left in the quarter as Young spoke to the referee, gesturing toward the fans and repeatedly calling for security.

Initially, security escorted a woman from her front-row seat across from the Aces’ bench. She returned shortly after, but two men seated nearby were then escorted out. Following the Aces’ 86-84 overtime victory, Young explained that one of the men had been making remarks toward her throughout the game, which eventually crossed a line.

“He was just chirping all game,” Young said postgame, according to ESPN. “I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far.”

When asked about the specific comment, Young chose to keep it private. The Fever later issued a statement explaining that security found no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct. The fan chose to leave voluntarily, and the matter is considered closed.

This incident overshadowed an intense basketball game that went into overtime, thanks to Chelsea Gray’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Gray also hit the game-winning buzzer-beater, securing an 86-84 victory for the Aces in Indiana. Young contributed significantly to the win with 22 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and five fouls.

After the game, Young emphasized the importance of enjoying sports respectfully. “They did the right thing. Obviously, we don’t want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we’re human too. So let’s just show up to games, have fun and not take it too far,” Young stated postgame.
