This request comes as a result of what he described as an agreement on the ‘perimeters of a deal.’

Reports had suggested that the U.S. and Israel were planning an attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure over the weekend. However, Trump’s post stated that the U.S. was prepared for action against Iran but halted plans in response to the appeal from Tehran and other nations. Trump emphasized that a deal is contingent on being able to finalize it quickly, noting that Israel is also committed to this approach.

According to Trump, the potential agreement involves the immediate and complete opening of the Strait of Hormuz and addressing Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Iran, which maintains its nuclear program is intended for peaceful purposes, has yet to publicly address these claims.

The semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr, which is linked to the Iranian government, dismissed Trump’s statements as false, citing unnamed military officials from Iran. This development marks the latest reversal since the U.S. and Israel initiated conflict with Iran earlier in February. An AP poll indicated that nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the conflict is not justified.
