Paul Brothers Visit Pentagon, Sparking Controversy

Logan and Jake Paul recently visited the Pentagon, addressing service members as revealed by the Department of Defense in a video. The polished clip, accompanied by dramatic music, showed the brothers speaking to smiling soldiers and officials. It then transitioned to footage of them interacting with personnel, including Hegseth, and posing for photos.

Logan expressed admiration for the military’s commitment and sacrifice. He thanked service members for the freedom they provide, enabling the nation to prosper. Jake encouraged service members to be proud, emphasizing the value of their contributions. He spoke about the importance of unity and supporting each other during challenging times as foundational principles of the country.

Newsweek reached out to the Pentagon and the Paul brothers for comments but has not received responses. The reasons behind their visit remain unclear, although Task & Purpose indicated they covered their transportation expenses. Jake Paul also met with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during the visit.

“The Department of War was proud to host Jake and Logan Paul at the Pentagon this week,” Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Joel Valdez stated. He noted the brothers toured the building, visited the 9/11 memorial, expressed gratitude to service members, and met Secretary Hegseth.

The Paul brothers, known for having over 44 million YouTube subscribers, gained fame as social media personalities before venturing into boxing and business. Recently, they have become more politically vocal, particularly Jake, who endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election and supports his policies on immigration and transgender rights. Logan’s podcast featured Trump, and they attended his inauguration in 2025. Jake has voiced opinions on revising the Second Amendment to enable citizens to possess advanced weapons.

Controversy surrounds the brothers, including Logan’s 2017 video from Japan’s Aokigahara forest, which stirred backlash. Their Pentagon visit sparked mockery online, with users expressing disbelief and referencing past entertainers like Bob Hope and Robin Williams.

The visit comes amid efforts by the Trump administration and the Defense Department to engage celebrities, athletes, and influencers. This strategy has included events like a UFC fight at the White House and connections with public figures such as Kid Rock.

Social media reactions were mixed. Former Representative Adam Kinzinger commented that the country isn’t serious, while other users drew comparisons to the satirical film Idiocracy. The Pentagon’s Instagram post, featuring the visit, received both criticism and likes, showcasing divided opinions.
