In late June, Paris experienced soaring temperatures, reaching an intense 106 degrees Fahrenheit, transforming the city into a sweltering sauna. This heatwave left many residents seeking relief. One encounter on a bus highlighted the confusion about air conditioning efficiency, with disagreements over keeping windows closed to maximize cooling.

Seeking comfort from the oppressive heat, I visited a cinema, expecting a cool respite. Unfortunately, the air conditioning there also failed, unable to cope with the exceptional temperatures.

While wandering through the city, I noticed a remarkable installation on the Pont Neuf bridge, a well-known Parisian landmark. Designed by French artist JR, the bridge was enveloped in layers of fabric mimicking rocky terrains, inviting people to experience this artistic cave structure.

Though this installation, filled with rectangular fans, did little to mitigate the heat, it offered a unique visual and immersive experience. Walking through the makeshift cave briefly transported me from the relentless heat, providing a fleeting escape from the relentless summer sun of Paris.
