Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District GOP Primary Races Heat Up

Representative Mark Amodei from Nevada is stepping down from his position in the 2nd Congressional District. This has intensified the GOP primary in the state, with several candidates contesting for the spot.

At a press conference held at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington D.C. on June 26, 2024, Amodei spoke about the presidential campaign and an upcoming debate. The spotlight is on Nevada as voters prepare to participate in several House primary elections.

Financial advisor David Flippo has received an endorsement from former President Trump. Meanwhile, James Settlemeyer enjoys support from incumbent representatives and Nevada’s Governor Joe Lombardo. This has led to a competitive environment in the Republican primary.

In Nevada’s other congressional districts, all three Democratic incumbents aim to retain their seats. The polls in the state will close at 10 p.m. EDT, with live results available from Decision Desk HQ.
