The company, based in Mount Olive, North Carolina, was initially invited to participate in the North Carolina exhibit.

In a statement, the company expressed pride in its North Carolina roots and had agreed to be part of an exhibit to showcase the state’s best offerings. Despite several states choosing not to attend the fair due to budget limitations, North Carolina maintains representation at the 16-day event, as local companies filled the gap.

A Confederate flag image surfaced in a video at the North Carolina exhibit, leading to Mt. Olive Pickle Co.’s withdrawal, as they were unaware of the image’s usage. The company emphasized its commitment to values of human dignity, opportunity, and freedom.
