Man Convicted of Fraud Using Stolen Identity

The individual described by prosecutors as “the Defendant” faced conviction for exploiting stolen identification to secure government benefits amounting to nearly $284,000. The person in question claimed the identity of Carlos Ramon Obregon.

Carlos Ramon Obregon’s grave marker acts as a poignant testament to his tragic death. Back in 1977, at the age of 14, Obregon suffered a fatal gunshot wound during a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.

In the federal court records located in Idaho, the accused is listed as FNU LNU, which stands for “First Name Unknown,” “Last Name Unknown.” However, the defendant insists on being Carlos Ramon Obregon. Obregon’s own mother provided crucial testimony that invalidates this claim. She confirmed that her son, Carlos Ramon Obregon, passed away in 1977 from a gunshot to the head.
