Lindy Li, a former Democratic fundraiser, has voiced concerns regarding unacknowledged warnings about President Joe Biden’s decline ahead of the 2024 election. She claims Kamala Harris positioned herself to win over Biden’s supporters just days before he exited the race, while still publicly maintaining that Biden was a viable candidate.

Li, who chronicled these experiences in her book Unburdened, detailed Harris’s meticulous political strategy. She alleged Harris instructed her staff to avoid discussing her potential nomination, presenting an image of undivided support for Biden. This strategy, according to Li, was an attempt to secure Biden’s endorsement without outwardly criticizing him.

It was all a charade. She was auditioning for Biden’s endorsement, Li shared in an interview with Fox News Digital.

As a prominent fundraiser for both Biden and Harris, as well as holding a significant position within the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Li had unique insights into the campaign dynamics. After Biden’s campaign suspension, she revealed insider knowledge of the Democratic Party’s awareness of Biden’s struggles. She detailed how figures like Harris accelerated preparations for their potential candidacies.

Li recounted Harris’s strategy to engage with donors. According to Li, Harris hosted donor calls professing unwavering support for Biden but simultaneously prepared these donors for a potential transition.

She would host calls with donors and pretend to support Biden and say there’s no daylight between Biden and herself, Li stated.

Li provided an example of Harris addressing Biden’s viability to donors just two days before Biden announced his withdrawal from the race. On July 19, 2024, Harris allegedly assured donors of Biden’s steadfastness, clearly stating support for him, despite signs of the impending change.

After Biden declared he would not seek reelection on July 21, Harris reportedly moved quickly to secure her position within the party. Li recalled Harris deploying a concerted effort to charm and consolidate support among party members, making it obvious that she anticipated a nod from Biden, even before his official endorsement later that day.

Despite Harris’s efforts to maintain her support for Biden, it became evident that some donors recognized inconsistencies in her narrative. Li described donor reactions within group chats where they expressed their dissatisfaction with what they perceived as political theatrics.

A lot of us have group chats… They were very aware they were being lied to, Li mentioned.
