The first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden in this millennium promises to be a highly coveted event. The New York Knicks are on a quest for their first championship in 53 years, hosting Game 3 of the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. This game is generating unprecedented interest and ticket prices reflect this demand.
At the time of reporting, nosebleed seats are priced as high as $9,990 on SeatGeek, with only a couple of options below $10,000. Meanwhile, StubHub lists the cheapest 100-level ticket at $13,115, making this the most expensive NBA game in history.
Madison Square Garden’s ticket prices for the Finals games (Games 3, 4, and 6) average around $7,149, shattering the previous record of $1,965 set in 2024 in Dallas. Comparatively, only the Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, with a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, had a higher average ticket price at $10,497.
President Donald Trump announced plans to attend Monday’s game, underscoring the significance of the event.
The Knicks’ Game 1 victory in San Antonio has amplified excitement and ticket prices. If the Knicks secure a win in Game 2 and head home with a 2-0 lead, prices are expected to surge even higher.
Game 2 is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. ET.
