Kayleigh McEnany Criticizes Supreme Court’s Birthright Citizenship Decision

Kayleigh McEnany, co-host on Fox News, has voiced strong opposition to the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding birthright citizenship. She referred to the decision as a ‘travesty’ and expressed concerns about ‘birth tourism’ practiced by certain countries, including China. McEnany argues that this practice was not the original intention of the nation’s founders.

In other news, country singer Kacey Musgraves paused her ‘Middle of Nowhere’ tour’s opening night at Chicago’s United Center with a personal request. She asked fans to donate to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, emphasizing its support for children whose parents have been deported. Musgraves highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing legal and financial aid to these children, noting the issue is not political but focused on necessity.

The Young Center works by partnering volunteers with social workers and attorneys to represent immigrant children in government custody. Their mission prioritizes family unity, equitable legal processes, and addressing children’s best interests.

In 2024, the Young Center assisted 1,975 children from 53 nations, initiating 1,388 new cases. The 2025 report noted a rise in average detention times from 30 to 198 days, with requests from detained parents quadrupling compared to the previous year.

This was not Musgraves’ first instance of support for the charity. Earlier, she collaborated with the resale platform Depop to auction 20 wardrobe items, with proceeds aiding the Young Center. Additionally, Musgraves invited three young brothers to open her Texas shows after their release from ICE custody. Their family sought asylum under the now-defunct CBP One system, having fled violence in Mexico.

DHS reported that the family’s entry was illegal and as per federal law, required detention while reviewing their claims. A DHS spokesperson clarified that the law mandates custody for those without valid entry at ports.

Simultaneously, ICE operations have intensified, with record-high immigration arrests in July. Federal sources indicated approximately 51,000 arrests were made, an increase from June’s 43,000.

Musgraves’ tour continues through October, with Midland as the opening act. The concert in Chicago was the commencement of her North American arena tour.
