Justin Herbert, quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, announced his engagement to Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Madison Beer. They shared the news in an Instagram post featuring Herbert proposing to Beer with a ring box in hand. The caption simply stated, “Meet my fiancé.”
Congratulations poured in from various sources, including the NFL, the Chargers, and singer Gracie Abrams. Herbert and Beer have been seen together since last August. Beer frequently attended Chargers games, and the couple publicly shared a kiss on the sidelines. They were also spotted at Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers games.
This spring, Herbert featured in Beer’s “lovergirl” music video. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh expressed support for Herbert’s relationship. He humorously offered Herbert a ride to the airport when the quarterback missed part of voluntary offseason workouts to join Beer on her tour.
Herbert, 28, begins his seventh season with the Chargers as he prepares for training camp on Wednesday. Despite not having won a playoff game yet, his relationship with Beer seems to have the full backing of the team.
Madison Beer, aged 27, gained popularity when Justin Bieber shared a video of her singing “At Last” in 2012. She released her debut single the following year, featuring Bieber. Nominated for Grammys in 2024 and 2025, Beer has been open about her struggles with social anxiety, explaining her early departure from award shows.
