Pat Oliphant, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, spent decades influencing public opinion through his impactful drawings. He critiqued presidents from Lyndon B. Johnson to Donald Trump, connecting with a broad audience thanks to syndication.

In 1998, Oliphant’s work was showcased at the Susan Conway Gallery in Washington. This exhibition highlighted his skill and unique style. The photo of him at the gallery, taken by Frank Johnston of The Washington Post, captured a pivotal moment in his career.

Oliphant carefully curated his submission for the 1967 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. He selected 12 cartoons from his work at the Denver Post. Among them, 11 pieces reflected his best work. He included one less favored by him, believing it would resonate with the jury’s political views.
