Jaime Santiago Corona was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck when he failed to stop at a stop sign. He collided with an SUV driven by 35-year-old Kelli Toler in Pitt County. Toler and her two children were in the vehicle. The collision resulted in the death of 6-year-old Calli Toler, while Kelli and her 4-year-old child suffered severe injuries.

Corona’s Legal Challenges

Corona, who has been deported from the United States three times, faces charges including misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, careless and reckless driving, and driving with a revoked license. DHS notes his illegal re-entry into the U.S. three times is a felony.
