Four U.S. service members suffered injuries during an incident on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower near the coast of Virginia. The event took place on Monday, as confirmed by the U.S. Navy.
The Navy reported a “mishap” that occurred aboard the aircraft carrier at approximately 6:18 p.m. EDT. This incident happened during aircraft recovery operations.
Two aviators from the Navy had to eject from their aircraft. They were quickly recovered by search-and-rescue teams. The Navy did not disclose the specific type of aircraft involved. However, the personnel were linked to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3.
Additionally, four individuals on the Eisenhower suffered injuries. They have since received medical care. One of the service members was transported to a hospital located near Norfolk, Virginia. The Navy assured that the injuries are not life-threatening.
