Florida’s sole Jewish Republican in Congress is speaking out against Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., as she campaigns to oust two fellow House Democrats. Tlaib is set to appear at a Fort Lauderdale rally organized by left-wing groups in support of three congressional hopefuls. The candidates include two socialists aiming to unseat Reps. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., as noted in a flier shared on Instagram.

“It’s no coincidence she’s targeting two Jewish Democrats,” stated Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., in an interview with Fox News Digital. “This won’t be well received in Florida. How it’s perceived in a Democratic primary is another matter; look, Democrats are lost. Yet, I hope Florida Democrats are smarter than those nationwide because the faction with anti-Jewish sentiments doesn’t bode well for America.”

Tlaib has emerged as a major leftist figure, particularly this election cycle, as candidates linked to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) outmaneuver established Democrats in several crucial contests across the nation. However, DSA-linked candidates face accusations of promoting views on Israel bordering on antisemitism, according to their critics. Allegations also suggest they sympathize with groups like Hamas.

As the first Palestinian American woman in Congress, Tlaib has faced bipartisan criticism regarding her stances on Israel and Jewish communities. She refutes claims of antisemitism levied against her.

Still, Fine described Tlaib as a “vocal supporter of Hamas,” arguing that the far-left makes American Jews feel insecure. “I believe the Democratic Party is misguided and perilous. I don’t know if this danger extends to Fort Lauderdale or throughout Florida, but nationwide, the Democrats’ nominees don’t love America,” commented Fine about the leftward drift. “They despise it and seek its ruin. Rashida Tlaib epitomizes this the most.”

DSA candidates have already ousted incumbent House Democrats in New York, Colorado, and Michigan. Notably in Michigan, socialist Abdul El-Sayed triumphed over establishment-backed Rep. Haley Stevens for a Senate nomination. Tlaib actively campaigned with El-Sayed and other DSA candidates across the nation.

The upcoming rally titled ‘Chomp the Oligarchy’ is being hosted by progressive groups such as Gen Z For Change and Florida Youth Justice Coalition.

Campaign representatives for Moskowitz and Wasserman Schultz chose not to address Tlaib’s participation. Likewise, Tlaib’s campaign did not provide a comment addressing Fine’s statements. Previously, Tlaib and fellow Democrats have accused Fine of displaying anti-Muslim sentiments.

Moskowitz, currently representing Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, seeks reelection in the newly formed 25th District, redrawn to favor Republicans. Wasserman Schultz is running in the redesigned 20th Congressional District, predominantly Black and strongly Democratic, causing concern over the district’s historical Black representation.
