Felix Rosenqvist: From Indy 500 Victory to Detroit Grand Prix Preparation

The Indianapolis 500 stands out as the most significant race within its series, uniquely positioned in the middle of the season. This event requires extensive preparation over a month, offering a demanding schedule. For Felix Rosenqvist, securing a win here marked a major milestone, leading to a whirlwind of events before heading to the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.

Rosenqvist claimed his victory in the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 24, 2026. Despite the success, he found little time to rest. Post-win, he embarked on numerous media commitments that stretched over several hours. This hectic schedule continued into Monday with further interviews, a photo session, and a Victory Celebration.

Immediately following these events, Rosenqvist traveled to New York. His itinerary included interviews, a tour of the Empire State Building, Times Square visits, and the red-carpet premiere of the movie “Pressure,” starring Indy 500 Grand Marshal Brendan Fraser. Back in Indianapolis, he engaged in local activities including throwing the first pitch at a Detroit Tigers game.

Despite this busy schedule, Rosenqvist expressed a positive outlook. “Obviously, I’m tired, but I had fun with it,” he shared. He recognized the importance of seizing opportunities to promote motorsports. His aim was to ride the momentum of his historic win, as it was the closest finish in Indy 500 history.

Rosenqvist aims to achieve another win at the upcoming Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. This race marks another milestone, where he seeks to win the next race post-Indy 500. He begins from position 16 in the lineup. Currently, Alex Palou holds the pole position, with Will Power beside him.
