A man was killed and a woman seriously injured in a shooting on Tuesday in Mundelein. The Lake County authorities confirmed the incident and mentioned that two individuals are in custody.

The police have not released the identities of those involved. They suspect the shooting might be related to a targeted domestic dispute.

Officers responded to an emergency call at an apartment located in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive at approximately 11:40 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities found a deceased man and a woman with potentially life-threatening injuries caused by a gunshot. Emergency responders transported her to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for urgent medical care.

The Mundelein police quickly disseminated a description of a vehicle possibly linked to the incident. An officer from the Illinois State Police located and stopped the suspected vehicle near the Indiana state line. Subsequently, a man and a woman were taken into custody.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
